Once Upon a Spacetime
Synopsis
LOGLINE
Things went wrong on a space arc sent from Earth over six hundred years ago. There was supposed to be a population of several thousand reaching Proxima Centauri but only ten people made it and they’ve eaten all the cryogenically frozen scientists. When they arrive a faster ship has already set up a police start on Proxima. Will Einstein’s brain be able to save them?
SHORT SYNOPSIS
Act 1
A space arc, Proxima One, is approaching a planet. Unfortunately somewhere along the way the inhabitants of the ship forgot what their original purpose was. A weird, confused religion, ‘The Cult of the SCI-Fi’ has developed and class wars between the upper and lower decks has dwindled the population to ten. Not only that but they’ve eaten all the cryogenically frozen scientists - all but one. He uses video screens to show them that they are on a space arc that took off from Earth at the end of the Twentieth Century, over 600 years ago. His father is Albert Einstein’s. Albert’s head is the Great Brain atop a mainframe computer, controlling the ship. Since Proxima One left Earth technology has advanced so that a faster ship has already landed on Planet Proxima and established a colony there. By the end of Act One the Proxima One’s inhabitants have made contact with the colony on Proxima. A welcoming party is going to be sent up.
Act 2
Planet Proxima turns out to be a police state where the Cult of the Sci-Fi has also gained a stranglehold on the populace. In this Act there’s plenty of love interest between the young men of the colony and the girls on board Proxima One; Einstein’s son clones his Dad’s head and Marie Curie’s head (from the colony) new bodies and the threat from the leaders of the colony turns out to be unsuccessful because the dictator’s pet turtle, Stallone, is too slow to actually reach anyone to attack them. In the end a couple of hundred cloned English soccer hooligans come to the rescue. Pretty well everyone falls in love and things on the colony are looking up.
P.S. This is not a true story.
